I’ve often heard dental students call dentistry an art. Flipping through the November issue of ASDA News, I couldn’t agree more. On page 15, UCLA’s Samir Farhoumand likens using the drill to a Waltz. When Dr. Don Whitebread was asked how he relaxes from the stresses of dentistry, he told us how his passion for photography has taken him all over the world. You can read all about it on page 6 in Ask a Dentist. Dr. Whitebread not only shared his insights on how to live a balanced life, but he also shared some stunning photographs in this issue of ASDA News. A few couldn’t fit in the print edition, so I’ve posted them here as a taste of what’s in the article.
Other highlights in the November issue are an account of ASDA’s participation at the ADA’s Annual Session, a story on oral health being upgraded in the Secretary of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2020 report and some practice management advice on corporate dentistry as well as life and disability insurance.
The print version of ASDA News should hit your mailbox in the next week or so, but for now you can read all the articles online right here. Let us know what you think and what you’d like more of in your ASDA News in the comments section below. And now, please enjoy Dr. Whitebread’s photography.
