Honorable mention: $1,000

Submission deadline: July 31, 2010

The winner and honorable mention will be recognized at the 2010 ADA Annual Session in Orlando, Florida. Some general info: participation is only for ASDA members; videos may be in any form (drama, comedy, etc.); videos should not exceed more than 4.5 minutes; applicants must include 2 copies of the video on a DVD. For an entry form and contest rules, contact Earl Sewell at sewelle@ada.org.

There are some great videos on youtube to serve as inspiration for your entry. Furthermore, check out this article on Listicles, which features a dozen tooth care commercials that are good for a few laughs. To inspire your cinematographic endeavors, I leave you with a Crest commercial from the ’80s:

I totally still remember this Crest commercial from when I was a kid. Talk about an effective ad campaign!

I loved all the old dental commercials. I remember the dinosaur that would get his tooth knocked out and placed it in milk and went to the dentist. I always knew what to do if my tooth got knocked out!

To whom it may concern: I just wanted to share a fun, educational video skit I created for a dental hygiene ethics course project this month. My name is Christine Hedblom, and I'm a senior dental hygiene student who will be graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University's Division of Dental Hygiene in the School of Dentistry this May (5-22-10). My short skit is entirely fictional, about an addicted clinician (myself as a dental hygienist who experiences issues with alcoholism) and her co-workers desire to help her. It can be viewed on the link below, if interested: http://www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=a5ea870b3318fbfbc102ac&skin_id=1010 Thanks, Christine Hedblom hedblomc@vcu.edu hedblomc@gmail.com
