As the class of 2015 filed anxiously into their first day of orientation at Buffalo, it struck me that another summer is winding down. This is the time for first year dental students to ask every question on their minds – from gross anatomy study tips to ways they can become involved. It reminds me how quickly our time in dental school passes.
We have to recognize the rapid turnover within ASDA. As the fall semester approaches, I encourage every chapter to welcome your new members early and often!
ASDA’s regional meetings begin next month and believe me when I tell you that the staff and leadership are working hard to ensure an amazing agenda for all who attend. The regional meetings provide a fantastic chance to network with peers from other ASDA chapters.
My favorite portion is the chapter idea exchange. It’s an opportunity to highlight the amazing things each chapter does, while reflecting on areas of improvement. Are you curious about ways to improve fundraising? Strategies to increase active membership? How about enhancing advocacy efforts on the local and state level? This roundtable discussion provides an incredible resource bank for attendees.
The Eastern Regional Meeting is up first, taking place Sept. 23-25 in Buffalo. Registration closes on August 17. More information can be found here. If you’re interested in attending, ask your chapter delegates for information on chapter funding.
What are you most excited about for the 2011 Regional Meetings in Buffalo, Raleigh and San Antonio?
