One of the most popular songs in America right now recognizes the tragedy of losing someone in their youth. As they say in the song, ASDA experienced ‘the sharp knife of a short life’ when Trustee Ryan Turner unexpectedly passed away in 2007. The Board of Trustees at that time decided to honor Ryan’s life by establishing a new scholarship program that would recognize one member per year who demonstrated the qualities that made Ryan a great leader.
Last year’s scholarship recipient was Young Yi, Harvard ’12. He was first delegate at our chapter last year and now serves as Immediate Past President. I admire Young for his dedication to dentistry and oral health. He is a great role model at our chapter and has already made strong contributions to the profession.
