DrBicuspid published an article this week on what’s stopping dentists from talking about obesity with their patients. According to a study in the Journal of the American Dental Association, dentists want to help their patients fight obesity but are nervous that this type of conversation will offend some patients.
This has been a debate in the health field for years. Are you responsible for telling your patients that their lifestyle is adversely affecting their health? You’d tell your patients to stop smoking, but would you tell them to lose weight?
If you’ve dealt with this or have an idea of how you’d deal with it, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Have a great weekend!
