ASDA members can help bring healthier and happier smiles to children in the community by volunteering with Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF) Dental Van program. BSBF invites members to volunteer by improving a smile, child by child, while having a rewarding hands-on community experience.
With nine dental vans strategically located throughout the United States, the mobile dental vans travel to more than 1,000 U.S. cities and towns providing free dental screenings, oral health education and treatment referrals to underserved children. The BSBF dental vans visit schools, Head Starts, after-school programs and community events.
Launched in the United States in 1991 and now active in more than 80 countries on six continents, Bright Smiles, Bright Futures is among the most far-reaching, successful children’s oral health initiatives in the world, driving better oral health actions, greater awareness and increased access to oral care. The cornerstone of BSBF is an award-winning educational curriculum presented by classroom teachers.
BSBF’s history of volunteerism has been the key to the program reaching over 1 billion children and families with important dental health information and tools needed to maintain a healthy smile. As a volunteer, you will interact with people of diverse backgrounds working toward the common goal of educating children and their families on how to maintain a healthy smile. ASDA members can be the power to bear where it’s needed most in some of the most under-resourced communities throughout the United States.
