How disability insurance helps protect your financial health (Part II)

In part one of this two-part series, we discussed how disability and life insurance can be an important part of wellness. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at how ADA student members disability insurance can help protect your financial wellness in the face of a disabling illness or injury.

Disability and life insurance at no cost? It’s true.

To be completely honest, would any of us ever think about disability and life insurance if no one told us how important it is? I never thought about it until I heard a presentation at one of the ASDA conferences, and it really got me thinking. Learning about insurance is actually pretty interesting, especially disability and life insurance. While it’s something I hope none of us have to use, I’ve learned that disability and life insurance is one of the greatest assets we could have. The way I see it, getting this insurance is not only something I can do for myself but also for my family.

Dental students: The time to protect your future is now

Whenever I talk to ADA student members, I always stress the importance of enrolling in the no-cost ADA student members disability insurance as soon as possible. I’ve been working as an Insurance Plan Specialist for Great-West Financial long enough to know that having disability coverage while you’re in dental school is one of the most important ways you can help protect your future.
There are countless ways you could become disabled. Fall off your bike and break your leg. Slip on the ice and injure your back. A skiing accident could end your career as a dentist. You could also be diagnosed with an illness, such as cancer, that could force you to interrupt your education.

Why dental students need life insurance. Now.

As a Great-West Financial Insurance Plan Specialist, one of my most important responsibilities is helping ADA student members understand the importance of life insurance.

I understand — when your future is so full of promise, it’s hard to think about the possibility of dying. Yet, as someone who has worked with dentists of all ages, I can tell you, bad things do happen, even to dental students. I know some of you have experienced this firsthand.
