Using YouTube to help others

My family were immigrants from Canada. Our first family business was running a convenience store. Working in the store as a teenager motivated me to pursue a career that focused on serving people and improving their well-being. Most students who want to be a doctor, dentist, nurse, pharmacist, health care professional or any other professional go into their field wanting to do one main thing-help people. However, when we’re faced with that daunting educational debt, I’m certain most students who dreamed of providing selfless service to others become discouraged as to how to provide free service to their patients. There are ways to supplement salaries and paychecks to provide funds to help people. I explored social media venues that can help me do just that.

This concept is one of the reasons why I believe that PowerPoint presentations are such a popular teaching tool. Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then I believe a video is worth a thousand pictures—and at 30 frames per second (which is a standard frame rate in television and digital cinema), a 30 second video literally can be. The power of a video cannot be overstated.

Receiving complete dentures at age 26

young with denturesKristi is not your typical “denture patient.” As a stay-at-home mother of four in Jacksonville, Florida, Kristi received her first set of upper and lower complete dentures at the young age of 26. Her story is unusual, not just because of her age, but that throughout her entire journey of full mouth extractions, placement of immediate dentures, and now with her new implants, Kristi has chronicled all of her struggles, accomplishments, and numerous dental visits on her blog and Youtube channel. Her videos and posts have provided a voice and string of hope for current and future denture-wearers.
